Hello, everyone I'm Laura and I'm the new Administrative Executive for Jim Davis Images. Ever since I was a little girl I've been planning weddings in scrupulous detail. I spent hours and hours planning different styles and themes, all with my best friends of course. While I haven't been married myself, I have helped my four best friends plan very different weddings. Honestly, it's almost embarrassing how much I still love planning weddings for fun. When I was a child I would ooooohhhhhh and aaaahhhhh over brides as we passed them posing for pictures or attending weddings. My mother would slyly reply that meant that the bride had been to college, ensuring that in my quest to become a bride I would, of course, have to go to college. As I grew up I dreamed of becoming a wedding planner and I even took courses from established wedding professionals. I think they served me well even though that's not the path I took in the long run.
However my love of weddings, coupled with my planning help and love of paperwork has helped me to learn a lot about the DFW wedding industry and I have several contacts, tips, and fun ideas that I'll be sharing with you in the future. I am so excited to be a part of Jim Davis Images, even though I leave the actual photography to my dad (aside from occasionally being a second shooter) we have an excellent relationship and great communication. I can tell him my perspective as a woman and as someone who loves weddings. We strive to be creative, unique, and capture what makes each bride special and show the love the couples have for each other. As I mentioned my four best friends have been married in every style from French Garden Party to a bride who looked like a Disney Princess to a casual ceremony with the bride dressed in blue! I adore the process of planning and executing weddings as much as I love the fashion and accessories that accompany it.
I am so excited to be a part of this new chapter in Jim Davis Images, and in your life as a bride or just as a lover of great photography.
P.S. While my father is a wonderful photographer he wasn't at this particular wedding, so please excuse my iPhone selfie. ;)
